UNLOCKED is a space to speak up on issues that matter, promote research and reach out to a wider network of leaders helping to shape Sri Lanka’s future. It offers the opportunity to foster new ideas and solutions that could contribute towards ending extreme poverty, combating climate change, reducing inequalities and ensuring a healthy life for all.
UNLOCKED is a scale-up of the blogging platform spearheaded by UNDP Sri Lanka since 2014, which gave young people from across the country the opportunity to contribute to discussions on “Youth and Development”. It now functions as a part of a larger pilot project called the SDG Integrated Solutions Platform (ISP). The ISP is a testing ground for new data strategies and the promotion of informed and inclusive policymaking. Moving away from vertical, standalone solutions, the project aims to bring different innovations together to create a ‘one-stop shop’ for data, research and ideas to advance the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The platform is open to anyone who wishes to engage in its curated discussions. Any interested party can participate in a discussion by submitting a wide range of content or by commenting on an ongoing forum. The content that is submitted can include articles, opinion pieces, vlogs, podcasts, data analytics, infographics, blogs and photo stories. The discussions will be initiated by a group of diverse contributors. Each discussion will run for a certain period, focusing on a single theme based on one or more Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Once a discussion has run its course, the key contributions will feed into the formulation of policy briefs that would help shape Sri Lanka’s development actions.
